I think a big part of the reason The Phantom Menace was one of my favorite movies when I was a little kid is because, if you take out the subplots and arc plot, at it’s core it tells the story of how a 14 year old girl with the world’s most amazing wardrobe saves her entire planet by being logical and brave and smarter than most adults, but she’s also compassionate and kind and a little scared, and she’s just a kid with the weight of the world on her shoulders, but despite that, Padme Amidala gets shit done. Formative role model, much? I just love her immensely.
