it still blows my mind that people think dashcon was bad because it was cringey or awkward or that most of the attendees were thirteen year old homestucks or superwholocks

dashcon was bad because the people who organized it hired children to fundraise as if this kind of backwards internet child labour isnt condemnable, they promised A-list guests and failed to deliver to people who paid to see them AND went as far as to avoid paying the celebrities they DID get for their time at all, putting at least one artist essentially on the street with no way home, if not for the good will of another shunted guest. They lied to people, demanded thousands of dollars from children, mostly young and impressionable girls who were excited to make new friends and to engage in socially-obscure interests with their peers. at the end of the day the organizers for dashcon were practically con artists, treating the young people they’d swindled their cause was good and then rifling through their pockets for loose change and giving them absolutely nothing in return

dashcon is a joke because the people who put it on were shit tier, not because a bunch of girls and kids were there come on

But – but it’s so much more fun to laugh at the teenagers who were conned! lol fandomz so embarrassing
