as you may have noticed updates on my donations posts have become more sparse; this is because a) it’s been difficult raising anything close to the amount needed in the past few days, b) I also don’t have the physical energy to write a proper new post more than about once a week without making my condition drastically worse.
to iterate, i am completely bedbound from an accident for which I am intending to seek compensation, and I have a complex neurological condition which is as yet completely untreatable. this condition has begun affecting my breathing to the extent that I’m concerned my life will soon be in danger unless I can find the resources to get the right medical care, regardless of cost barriers.
i am only 21 years old, i went to an academically selective high school and intended to study classical music performance in university. now, not only will I lose everything I had planned for my life, I could also die in my early twenties.
From early 2013 onwards, I have been in need of 24 hr live-in care, due to severe tearing in my nerves from any physical movement whatsoever, but it’s been impossible to pay for this for obvious reasons (at a rate of $25 AUD/hr and assuming $0/hr for 9 hrs of sleep, this would cost $2650/week or $136,500 AUD p.a., a complete impossibility.) partly because of a lack of adequate care, my condition has simply never stopped declining and it will almost certainly continue to do so until I die unless I get adequate disability care and medical support.
currently, I’m desperately trying to save up for an accident compensation case, the last lingering hope that I could ever get the bare minimum healthcare that I need and deserve, on a guaranteed and ongoing basis. I still need at least $8,000 USD to fund legal fees, possibly thousands more (reasons). this is needed URGENTLY. Additionally, in the upcoming months and possibly years before the compensation case concludes, I will also need a great deal of assistance to pay for medical fees and disability care costs to ensure that my condition does not continue getting worse.
