9uu:
It is now three years since this post was made. slytherin-starkid-of-tardis changed their URL and their old one appears to be a spambot now. Reblog so this can work its way back to them.
I found their new URL. I’m not gonna say it because knowing tumblr they’d get spammed but I’ll message them about it and re-reblog this if they reply.
Their comment:
“Sure I’ll comment as long as my URL isn’t involved
As an 18 year old, I look back and of fucking course I’m embarrassed that I commented on it
But like, the amount of hate I received because of it was super gross and rude, like I had people telling me to kill myself and calling me a special snowflake and other shit like that
So like, gg tumblr, y’all dished a shitstorm on a 14 year old who thought they were cool bc they had finally found a place where they had friends & didn’t feel like a loser but w/e
Hindsight is 20/20, I would literally push 14 year old me down a flight of stairs, have a nice day and please stop sending me snarky asks asking if I regret it yet bc yes I do thanks :)”man it would be kool if kids could just be kids. like, before reblogging somethin that boils down to “oh wow the criiinge!” just
let kids express themselves in a place they feel safe doing so, comments like that aren’t hurting anyone, but the backlash is.
i got to be a wild teenager and regret how embarrassing i was without tons of harassment, and that’s how it should be. and it’s not “this is the internet sweetie :)” cause that’s just another way to excuse being a dick; a rewording of “welcome to the real world kid”
This makes me so, so sad and angry. I mean, I know a lot of what happened here was at the hands of other kids (I know, I spoke to them, they didn’t particularly care) but I’m just so pissed off at that a bunch of unchecked kids and disgusting adults decided to bully and threaten a 14-year-old over something completely innocuous for three years.
