Being zapped by some sort of raygun is merely some kind of annoyance if that alien’s/monster’s/whatever it is’ face is anything to go by.
It looks like the gun does not have a harmful ray of any sort, it’s just underarm deodorant the green chap didn’t feel he actually needed, but the Doctor talked him into it.
