#Peak Phil Miller Awfulness?#Gosh season 1 was such a different beast#This might also have been the point where I stopped reading comments on AV Club reviews of the show#I mean most people were firmly on Team Phil Sucks but there were SOME who were Team Calling Erica And Gail sluts#And/or Team Calling Melissa a Bitch#And acting like Phil’s actions were nothing compared to Erica and Gail both…liking sex?#The logic here is confusing because Phil can’t even claim to want what Carol wants (and goes her own fairly screwy way of having/keeping)#He LITERALLY just wants to have sex with Melissa#And then Gail and Erica#Anyway#I might have commented some Strong Words at one of those people and then departed maybe
Season One is so WEIRD? Like it’s honest-to-god like someone saw that “looks like me and you are the last two people on earth, m’lady!” tumblr post and decided to make a series out of it? I still don’t know if the writers wanted us to have sympathy for Phil back then or not, but I sometimes wonder if they looked at the reactions you described and figured ‘okay, something’s gone wrong here, let’s redeem Phil best we can and change things up a bit’. Or I kind of hope they did maybe?
