UM SO I’VE BEEN REWATCHING DOCTOR WHO LATELY (OMG RIVER MY LOVE) AND I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT “ASYLUM OF THE DALEKS”. WHEN THE DOCTOR WAS TALKING TO CLARA-THE-DALEK, HOW DID HE HEAR HER VOICE? LIKE, IT SOUNDED LIKE SHE WAS A NORMAL HUMAN BEING, NOT A DALEK… HOW DID THAT WORK? AND THE WHOLE PLOT POINT ABOUT THEM HEARING THE MUSIC FROM THE ASYLUM… HOW??? (DON’T GET ME WRONG, CLARA IS AMAZING. I LOVED THAT EPISODE. BUT HOW???)

I mean, how did she broadcast music from Carmen if she was a Dalek? I’m guessing it was just what she was projecting from her mind through the whole Pathweb. So she projected her own voice, since she didn’t see herself as a Dalek.

There were, like, speakers. She wasn’t literally talking to him until he was in the room: she was broadcasting.

Wait, if that was her Dalek voice when the Doctor was in the room, does that mean the Doctor basically heard a Dalek say to him “RESCUE ME CHIN BOY AND SHOW ME THE STARS.”
