family were murdered, you were forced into marriage – and still I didn’t
Sansa’s been abused. Really horribly abused. She’s been a child bride, she’s been raped, she’s been assaulted, she’s seen her father murdered before her eyes, she’s had her whole family wiped out. But now that she’s showing some ‘power’? Well, now she’s worthy of everyone’s time. She wasn’t when she was being raped, but she is now. Because now she’s a Strong Female Character. And that’s all anyone needs.

article says quite a lot about how we perceive female abuse victims who
don’t fight back.
