I’m requesting some help to raise another $387 for my weekly rent of $490, which is due by the end of tomorrow (16/5/16 – AEST timezone). Unfortunately I can’t afford this myself as I currently only receive
$285/week in social security payments, and I’m still waiting for my subsidised housing application to be processed. I have a
neurological condition that leaves me bedbound (medical reports), so it’s also impossible to move into a cheaper shared accommodation due to inaccessibility & discrimination, and it’s unlikely I can compete for a rental property with my low income.
The manager at my current accommodation would like me to leave asap – the last date at my place is set at 1st June and I’m unsure whether an extension to this is even possible. So I desperately need my government housing application (incl. temp housing) to be successful. A disability-related requirement is that I have access to ongoing home care to maintain an apartment. I need to pay $500 by Thursday 19th May to my home care agency for some outstanding invoices (see details). I also need to maintain a $200/week payment plan to my private paramedic service so that I can have transport when it comes time to move.
I would really appreciate some help with these expenses, I know I’ve had this fundraiser for a while now and getting government subsidised housing will significantly reduce the amount of assistance I need.
