My
anxiety, while being different than it was years ago still manifests in
my worry about raw meat – usually it’s only worry that people have
gotten raw chicken juices everywhere and neglected to wash their own
hands, but this time I’m worried about something else.

Pork,  My mother had bought a pack of pork chops and pork loin and
set it in the fridge on Saturday afternoon, She had meant to get zip
lock bags to put the meat in but it kept being forgotten, I guess the
meat had been sitting at such an angle in the fridge that juices from
the packaging started to leak onto the fridge shelf, I didn’t notice
this at all when I moved the packaging but later last night I saw a
puddle of very muted pinkish liquid, slightly sticky for some reason and
with no decernable odor on the fridge shelf,  This wouldn’t have been a
huge deal as I could have just cleaned it up but – I was not the only
one who did not notice this meat juice, my mother put down a box of
Dairy Queen food on top of the area where the meat juice was…

I checked the box, it’s one of those cardboard boxes that are thin
but practical.. It had a bunch of juice on the bottom but it didn’t seem
any of it had gotten inside, there was also two layers of the kind of
paper that they put in fast food boxes to keep your food from leaking
grease all over the box… I was worried but I was trying to be
practical.

I wiped off the pork juice as best I could and heated up the Dairy
Queen meal as it was cold and I wanted it to be hot…  There were no
obvious signs of the meat juice having gotten into direct  contact with
the food itself and yet I find myself worrying, I recall that raw pork
can carry Salmonella, listeria and trichinosis,  While salmonella has a
short period of “When do the signs start?”  Listeria and trichinosis
have from weeks to months for those signs  to even start showing.. I
don’t want to worry about this for two months,  Can anyone help me out
here and give me some peace of mind?

I honestly don’t know…do any of my followers know?
