one of the funniest things that happened back in the darker days of Star Wars fandom was when news hit that NSYNC would be appearing in Attack of the Clones, since George Lucas’s then-teenage daughters loved them and had talked their dad into letting them have cameos apparently
and people LOST THEIR SHIT, the idea of a BOY BAND showing up in a STAR WARS MOVIE, because that would RUIN IT FOREVER (even though the band were just going to be background jedi with no lines or names)
in the end NSYNC ended up filming scenes but being cut from the final movie – no-one’s sure whether it was the fan backlash or just general SAG issues that led to them being cut – although apparently you can see them far-off in the background in the Battle of Geonosis, if you’re really looking
No-one gives a shit now but THE WHOLE THING WAS HILARIOUS LET ME TELL YOU, although probably not for the band
