the PT is a perfect example of parallels of the time period that it was filmed in because it honestly shows you  the fucked up world we live in. TPM, AOTC and ROTS were all filmed during the 1997-2005 era.

Do you understand how much shit happened during that time? Bush was elected, 9/11 happened, The ‘War on Terror’ occurred, the invasion of Iraq and so many questions of WHY, and how can we pull back from all of it, when the general public had no idea why most of the things were happening.

Then you have the PT. The essence of the plot is a political sci fi thriller when you think of it. AOTC is a perfect political film when shown in parallell for the time period, it accents The War on Terror perfectly – giving blind hope to people so that they can save us.

…And god, if ROTS doesn’t show you the PTSD and how tired the Jedi are after the war, and how they’re tired of it, in regards to the War on Terror, I don’t know what is.

The Obi-Wan vs Anakin sets it up perfectly. They’re two soldiers, men who once fought for the same team, who no longer can. They have two different opposed views of the world and they are so passionately attached to these views.

The end? When the twins are given away, it really is A New Hope. It shows us that we hope that our offspring will change all the mistakes that we’ve made, hoping that they can build a world that we may of honestly just destroyed. Hoping that they don’t make the same mistakes and trust the same people we had.

“While “Star Wars” fans squabble over whether “Revenge of the
Sith” contains any anti-Bush messages, one central figure has weighed in
on the debate: Hayden Christensen, the actor who plays Anakin
Skywalker/Darth Vader.
When the Ottawa Sun asked Christensen if the flick “takes metaphoric
shots at the war-mongering politics of U.S. presidents Richard Nixon and
the two George Bushes” the star answered: ‘Absolutely.’” [x]
