if you need binders/breast forms/makeup/etc but don’t want your parents to know, now is the best time to get it. 

you can order whatever it is online and when the package comes in if the ask what it is you can say something like “it’s a secret!” or even just sssh them. they’ll assume it’s a present for whatever holiday you celebrate and probably won’t press the issue.

A couple of things to keep in mind here:

  1. If you are having something shipped from outside your country, customs forms must declare the contents. Whoever picks up the package first will be able to read the contents because legally, they have to be disclosed on the outside of the package for all international shipments, as far as I know. So, make sure that the shipment is coming from within your own country for maximum discretion.
  2. Any good company or small business that wants to treat its trans customers well should ALWAYS accommodate a request for discretion and anonymity in packaging, because outing people is a shit thing to do when they’re paying you money. Make sure the person/company sending it to you uses discreet packaging and something nondescript in the From address field. Email the customer service address or send a message to the Etsy seller or whoever is in charge of the shop you’re ordering from. See if they use just a personal name or a discreet name on packaging. They will not think you’re weird for asking for it. Please try not to feel too embarrassed about asking customer service what the policy is on shipments. It’s your safety at risk, and I’m sure they understand that and want to make sure you’re happy and safe.
  3. There is a chance that if a parent sees the address on the package and gets suspicious or curious, and if the parent has some internet know-how, they might do a reverse lookup on it. If you think your parent might do this if they think you’re hiding something, even though you’ve said it’s a gift and a surprise, you may have to find another way to get it safely. See if you can have it shipped to a friend’s house whose parents aren’t as nosy, or something.
