new game: list characters in your fandoms who you think could resist the One Ring.
All I can think of right now is Nanny Ogg (Discworld) and Jean-Luc Picard (TNG). It’s funny how we gravitate much more towards characters who would grab at it with both hands.

Lord of the Rings: Tom Bombadil, Faramir, Gandalf, Galadriel, Aragorn… (I know, I know; I’m hilarious.)
MCU: I think Captain America could manage it. He’d be super tempted, but he’d be all Faramir about it and turn away from it.
I agree with Luna Lovegood for Harry Potter. Her resistance would be more like Tom Bombadil’s, IMO.
Not a damn person could resist it in Battlestar Galactica, but let’s especially keep it out of the hands of Gaius Baltar , President Roslin, Adml Adama, Six, and D’Anna. They’d fuck it up so spectacularly. (Starbuck doesn’t need it lol.)
My headcanon is that Lucy Pevensie is the only one who wouldn’t even be tempted.
Susan would be tempted by the subtle power of the ring, while Edmund would be tempted to take it so he could rule fairly (ha), while Peter would be tempted to keep it for use against Narnia’s enemies.
And I think that any one of the three would take it, if they were alone. If the Four were together, or Lucy was with them, they could see the evil and be strong.
John Crichton knows how the story goes and wouldn’t even consider it. Even if it’d get him home – he knows how the story goes.
So many people on DS9 would be tempted. Some of them would grab it outright, and not just because it’s shiny.
Though now I’m thinking of the time Tinsnip and I talked about the inevitable Lord of the Rings holosuite programs, and how Garak would call dibs on Legolas.
Papyrus in Undertale would for sure be able to resist it.
I was gonna say Mieu from Tales of the Abyss, but he might confuse it with the Sorcerer’s Ring, and then shit would get awkward.

Though I can’t believe Arthur Shappey from Cabin Pressure didn’t occur to me this morning! Not only would he have zero desire for power and is the most cinnamony of rolls, but his reaction to being asked to take the Ring would be basically “No problem! Okay, bye!”
I seriously doubt that anyone from Star Wars would be able to resist it, but for obvious reasons I think Luke would come closest
