it has come to my attention that someone STOLE my Newsies video (the one with almost 100k notes) and posted it to YouTube, WITHOUT giving me credit.

The YouTube video has now been linked on the official Newsies twitter and on Billboard.com.

I am absolutely devastated and enraged. It is deeply troubling that someone (specifically a YouTube account credited to someone named Samantha Clayton) STOLE my content and is taking credit for it,

but it is even more appalling that her LIES are being perpetuated by BILLBOARD.COM.

In the article, it says

One enterprising Internet cool kid, YouTube name Samantha Clayton, went ahead and put the Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars tune (which is still in the Hot 100’s top 10) alongisde footage from Newsies, the cult 1992 Disney film starring Christian Bale about the Newsboys Strike of 1899. (The film went on to become a beloved Broadway musical in 2012, and recently closed.)

This is wrong.  I create that video MYSELF, and posted it to my tumblr on JUNE 17th. This is my original edit, and it is being passed around the internet with credit given to someone who is NOT me, who STOLE my work.

I am so upset and disappointed, and I’m not stopping until credit is given where credit is due.

PLEASE spread this around. My original post has almost 100,000 notes. It has the timestamp of June 17th. It’s clearly what was there first, and it’s my original content, and I would like to be given credit for something I created.

If you would like to link this video to someone using YouTube, please use the link to the YouTube video I just posted, which will give credit to me, the original creator of the content.

Thank you.
