Why are people who like/blog about Doctor Who, Supernatural or Sherlock (or worse, all three) expected to dedicate 75% of their blogs to mild self-flagellation and constant reassurance that yes they know these things are problematic if they want to not be mocked, bullied or sent hate mail by people older and more educated than them
but people who like/blog about Harry Potter, Marvel comics, DC comics, Buffy, Angel, Game of Thrones/ASOIAF, Torchwood, Iron Man, Teen Wolf, X-Men, Captain America, The Hunger Games, Guardians of the Galaxy, the MCU as a whole, Bioshock, Lord of the Rings, Orphan Black, Disney movies, Pixar movies, The Lego Movie, Star Wars, Downton Abbey, Once Upon A Time, James Bond, Spider-Man, Superman, Broadchurch, The Walking Dead, In The Flesh, Shameless, Arrow, Gotham, The Cornetto Trilogy, The Vampire Diaries, Batman, Firefly, Adventure Time, Breaking Bad, American Horror Story, Scott Pilgrim, Les Miserables, Dragon Age, The Maze Runner, Pirates of the Caribbean, Parks and Rec, Merlin, almost any band, Divergent, Hannibal or Twilight will generally not have that concern?
(Serious question.)
