GamerGate or Superwholock: who is the more embarrassing collective of nerdbabies? Discuss.
gamergate bc its a bunch of entitled adult men who are sending death and rape threats to women and literally threatening school shootings whereas superwholock fans are mostly young girls with a lot of internalized misogyny and are just kind of embarrassing sometimes
isn’t it interesting how we’re comparing ‘somewhat annoying young girls’ with ‘actual violent misogynists’ like they’re on equal terms.
And by interesting i mean a really great example of how we villify young girls and give a free pass to dangerous misogynistic men.
Large and diverse group of young girls enthusiastically sharing a common interest (with some of them being awful, as in any large group of people) vs misogynists who threaten rape and school shootings and drive women out of their houses?
….It’s a really tricky one.
