The recent trend of making fun of superwholockians makes me really uncomfortable… Because no matter how ridiculous or embarrassing it is, didn’t we all start like that? I read some god awful fic and was a really annoying shipper and loved stuff I probably shouldn’t have. And yes I am embarrassed by that me now and I’m glad I’m not that person, but I’m also glad I was, and that people didn’t harass me for it.

Also those superwholockians? Probably teenage girls, being passionate about something. Yes they’re ridiculous and yes they’re sometimes arrogant, but they’re also being passionate and I love that. Over time they’ll consume more media and learn to think critically about things, but what’s the point of fandom without passion?

Oh, I hate this trend. HATE it. It’s the same mentality that leads old men to mock teenage girls who like One Direction or vampires, I’m convinced of it. Any source material anyone throws themselves behind will have problems, but this particular curious strain of bullying isn’t about the source material, it’s about the fans being ‘annoying.’

Well, er…I’ll always fight for a teenage girl’s right to be (harmlessly) annoying. Surely some goddamn grown adults can put up with a Supernatural gif and a ‘lol XD’ being added to a frivolous post every now and again.
