Just posted this on Reddit in response to a dude claiming that Clara was “childish” and “a total bitch” for being upset with the Doctor…
Um, but…
The Doctor knew that letting the creature in the moon hatch wouldn’t destroy the earth, and he didn’t tell Clara that.
He let her believe that her choices were between genocide and genocide. Worse, it was only thirty years in the future, so Clara was having to weigh the life of the moon-creature versus her own life (she’d be in her sixties down there) and the lives of her family, friends, and the entire human race.
He deliberately let Clara believe that she was making a choice that would leave her with life-destroying guilt and the blood of innocents on her hands.
You know, the exact thing that ruined his life for centuries?
The exact thing Clara saved him from?
When it came time for him to use the Moment, Clara didn’t pull some “Welp, this is some Time Lord bizness, not my area, y’all have fun obliterating your entire species, I’ll be in the van” crap. She stayed and tried to help him make the right decision.
She’s absolutely right to be angry.
