A really important note to make of Time Heist is the fact that again the Doctor ignored what the female character said, (in this case the all so sexy and not at all original bank lady,) and tells her to call him because one day she will need him. Although it is not exactly in the context he may as well be saying something along the lines of, ‘you’re only a woman and I am the Doctor and everyone needs me one day, so of course you will too, don’t worry I’ll set things right with my band of useless side-kicks that I keep around for the odd laugh and to look pretty beside me.’
I am so done with Steven Moffat.
“I didn’t like the plot of this episode, so I’m going to ignore the actual motivations of the female villain and imply that her being ‘sexy’ is somehow wrong when she does nothing sexual apart from possibly wear high heels and have (covered) breasts. Clara, despite being an accomplished teacher and the Doctor’s saviour more than once, is useless and there to look pretty. Saibra, a non-sexualised woman of colour who used her powers to help save the day, is likewise useless and just there to look pretty. Although the Doctor did not actually say anything remotely along the lines of ‘you’re only a woman’ to anyone in this episode, I have decided that he actually did, because I apparently have deep-seated misogynistic tendencies that I prefer to blame on Steven Moffat rather than do anything about.”
