Hey, you wanna know something weird/sort of vaguely interesting? (The Lily Allen video thing reminded me.) The other night I woke up in the middle of the night for no reason, as I do a lot, and I couldn’t go back to sleep so – and I still don’t know why – I started imagining a video called ‘Blurred Lines: The Inoffensive Version’. It was basically just women going about their day and what they were doing happened to sort-of coincide with the Blurred Lines lyrics, but in a funny, pun-y way instead of a creepy, icky way. For example, “Tried to domesticate you/but you’re an animal, baby it’s in your nature“ showed a pair of women taking a kitten home from an animal shelter and training it. ”I know you want it“ was a DVD salesman trying to sell a woman a copy of the movie It. (Hahahaha.) And “I hate these blurred lines” showed a woman scanning some line art with a bad scanner, the poor quality images finally driving her to shout the above lyric out in frustration…
…It seemed like a really funny idea at 5am.
