1. Caroline John, aka Liz Shaw, has died. :( It has not been a good couple of years for the wider Who family. I wonder if they'll dedicate any of the new episodes to her.
2. This story will simultaneously deplete and restore one's faith in humanity. You've probably seen it already, but basically some people who were assholes tormented an elderly lady into tears, it was caught on camera, and then some people who weren't assholes started raising money for her to have a holiday, and now her fund is up to eighteen thousand dollars. (I haven't watched the video of her being bullied, I don't know if I will…) So yeah. She can probably afford to retire now, which is nice.

I dunno. She was only on Who for a year or so (unlike Courtney or Sladen who were on for many years) but since she is (was…) apart of the Who family I can see them putting in a dedication or even a reference to Liz Shaw’s character death (like they did with Brig) in the show.

I read in DWM that there was gonna be an episode featuring UNIT this year…maybe they’ll work in a reference to her then? I sort of hope she doesn’t die in-universe though. :(

I’m sure they’ll dedicate one of the episodes to her. No matter how long she was on the series, she is still part of the DW family. She deserves to be remembered by the present day crew. I saw that story on the news a few moments ago. OUTRAGEOUS. I mean, honestly! I can’t even …

That story is really horrible…I’m just glad the outcome was so good. I didn’t watch the video in the end, it’s just too sad. :(

re:2. Our local paper had an even more disturbing account of the bullying. It turns out the bus driver’s son committed suicide 10 years ago, and one of the taunts was along the lines of “even your family hates you, they all killed themselves to get away from you.” Those little brats need punishment. Their parents need educating. OK, I’ll not go off on a rant about personal responsibility, parenting skills, and the lack of common courtesy, common decency, and common sense in the world today, especially since there was a good outcome for the bus driver.

Bloody hell……. At least they’re kinda being punished now. I hope they get thrown out of school, to be honest. There’s rules about bullying school staff and clearly they can’t follow those rules, so… Rant away!
