The cod gomplex
Further thoughts on stuff-
Regarding Rita: perhaps we’ll see the actress return to play a full-time companion, like Freema Agyeman did? I’d like that. I’d really like a Muslim companion, because I’m just so so sick of the constant ‘OMG MUSLIMS EXIST/STEALING OUR JOBS AND WOMEN/POLITTYCAL CORRECTNESS’ tabloid headlines. See also: Tabloid Watch.
Regarding Amy: I’m not the least bit bothered that the Doctor called her ‘Mrs Williams’, because he’s right back to calling her and Rory ‘the Ponds’ later on in his personal timeline, in The Impossible Astronaut. And Amy’s still credited as ‘Amy Pond’. I dunno, it just doesn’t register with me. Plus it’s always been my headcanon that Rory calls Amy ‘Mrs Williams’ in the boudoir. But don’t tell anyone.
Other Who stuff! Have updated the Representation charts to include The God Complex. And, because I’ve been in a Mickey mood recently, I’m doing a Mickey picspam micspam on my tumblr.

Haha I don’t have a problem with the Mrs. Williams thing either. A lot of people see it as misogyny, but I think that it was the Doctor’s way of saying, “I should stop calling you Amy Pond. You are not that little girl anymore, and I can’t expect to ooh and awe you through trips through the galaxy, when your life is falling apart.” She’s married and a mother now, and she probably did take Rory’s last name, formally, so he just was like, “Mrs. Williams” because he wants them to see eachother for who they are. It’s harder for Amy to see the Doctor as who he is, but considering his timestream, he went from seeing her as a little girl, to her being an adult, so it was like in the blink of an eye. He said he’d be five minutes. So considering that, the Doctor really does need to start to see Amy for who she is.

I would probably mind it if it was a permanant thing, but it’s not…I saw it almost like a father/daughter ‘look how much you’ve grown’ moment. :D
