The Doctor Who Sprite Project: Series Five!
This here is something me and my fiance have been working on. He likes to make sprites, I like Doctor Who, we combined them.
Take with credit (‘sarah531 and trueform darkside’ if you like) and mostly, enjoy!
Okay! Aren’t they cute? The little sleeping Rory I take no credit for, as he came free with RPGMaker and I just changed the colours and animated him. Dave did the Pandorica, though!
EDITED! Requests! Now there is a towel!Doctor, a Doctor/Tardis and a wedding Amy/Doctor.
Next up: the Specials, and then working backwards until we’ve done everything.
We’re taking requests (only for Series Five, though) so if anyone wants a River/Rory icon or a different caption or whatever, just ask!

I think my favourite bit is that every few cycles, the last two ones (fez brigade and the one to it’s left) look like the four of them are walking to the left, go behind some invisible thing, and then show up to go in the TARDIS minus fezzes and Riversong. Made me smile. Cute idea! I’ll look forward to seeing more. Also… Towel!Doctor, at all?

These are too cute! If you don’t mind me asking, how does your fiance make the sprites? Does he have a specific program or template that he bases them on? Any tutorials he recommends for beginners? I’ve been wanting to make some for a fandom of mine (Young Hercules), but I’ve never made sprites before and have no idea where to start.

Hi, I’m Dave(Sarah’s finace)- I’m using her account to answer your question :) The program I use for the sprites is RPG maker XP (although you can also put them together with any GIF program). As for the sprites themselves, I generally use the RTP (run time package)sprites that come with the program as a template and edit them, but I’ve been doing it so long now I can also make them from scratch if need be lol. I have never used any tutorials (I’m all self-taught) so there are none that I could recommend, but if it’s something you’re interested in, I could always whip up one for you to use :) if that’s something you’re interested in, please email me at electricsnail@live.co.uk :)
