Twilight
I went to see Twilight today. Not really by choice, my fiance’s mum wanted to see it, so we went with her. I’d heard a lot about it beforehand, from friends (“I’ll lend you the books. You will fall in love with Edward!”) and coworkers (“Mormon misogyonist crap”), so I was quite curious.
It wasn’t that bad. I laughed at moments that I suspected I wasn’t meant to laugh at, but it was stylish and entertaining and I quite liked Bella. I’m not sure why she’s held up as being an awful character. Maybe she’s different in the books?
(I have no plans as yet to read the books.)

Bella comes off far better in the movie, mostly because taking it out of first-person means we don’t hear her constantly whining about how dare these stupid boys fancy her or these stupid girls try to be her friend, or a billion variations on how she’s not good enough for the dazzlingly effulgent Edward – also, they cut the scene where she sets up an alibi for Edward so that if he loses control and rips out her throat, the police won’t know that he was the last one to see her alive (you know it’s true love when you want to help your boyfriend cover up for murdering you). I really liked the movie, but the book’s seriously one of the worst things I’ve ever read.

I loved Bella’s friends. They were awesome. :D Whoa. I think I may give the books a miss…

Mmmm I share a different opinion. Bella is much better on screen than in the book but also Twilight is alot different than the rest of the books in the series. New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn are much different to Twilight and include so many different things that you wouldn’t expect from reading Twilight alone. So if you have spare time I recommend you do read the others. Skip Twilight if you must, as the movie more or less summed it up. Twilight is the least interesting and exciting compared to the others.
