Doctor Who: Love and Monsters
Well, that was different, wasn’t it?
This was the one I’d been looking most forward to. There’s a reason half the fics I do are minor-character fics, and that’s because I’m so interested in the idea of what becomes of these people after the Doctor and Rose have run through their lives. So now there’s an episode about that, and I literally turned around at one point and said ‘I love this show.’ So there you go.
I loved Elton and I loved Jackie (‘Let me tell you what it’s like to be left behind…’) and I loved that they didn’t forget that Jackie cared about Mickey as well, and I really wish that LINDA had survived and not all died or been turned into paving slabs. They were fun. Sigh.
The only thing I didn’t like was the ending. It got a little too weird then. How exactly is Elton going to explain that Ursula is now a disembodied face? Didn’t she have a family or anything?
And…there’s a new game at whoisdoctorwho, it’s a quiz, and I’m stuck. Anyone know the answer to the Sycorax language question?

I was frustrated at the lack of background for the LINDA characters. Why are Bliss and the rest interested in the Doctor? I really want to know their stories…

I was creeped out by paving-stone!Ursula, too. How is that being human?

Her being a paving slab was a little weird… and I really DON’T want to know about their love life… I imagine Elton may well end up being the main suspect in the disappearence/murder of the LINDA people and going to jail for life.

I really enjoyed it. Haven’t laughed so hard all season. Glad I wasn’t the only one…
