I am reliably informed that it’s International Women’s Day. So…let’s play a game. Give me a female character from any fandom you know I know, and I’ll write a drabble about her. :)
EDIT: Anyone is free to steal this, and make it into a meme. :D

Oh, brilliant brilliant brilliant. Mind if I steal this for my journal? I always do something IWD-related but didn’t have much to post today for various reasons. This is a nice little bit, yes. For here, I’ll request Luna Lovegood, please!
March 8, 2006 @ 6:38 pm
You may certainly use it. :D Here’s a Luna: Insults One of Luna’s distant relatives, on her mother’s side, was a woman who was a bit like a needle. She looked down her nose at people, and always wore black, whether it was a sad occasion or not. She came to the house very early morning, when Luna’s father was still asleep. “Tell your father, little girl,” the woman spat, “that inviting Mudbloods to your mother’s funeral has insulted her memory.” Luna just looked at her. “Did you understand that, you half-wit?” Luna looked at her some more, and said thoughtfully, “You’ve just insulted her more, I think.” The woman stormed off and never came back.

Ooh, I love it, thank you! Hurrah for more good Luna-fic in the world. :D

I’ve always loved your Trisha. Or if you can’t go there, Jackie. ^_^
March 8, 2006 @ 6:44 pm
*grins* Why thank you. Tell you what, here’s Trisha and Jackie- Jealousy “How did he and Rose meet?” Trisha asked, out the blue. Jackie’d been left in the flat with her while Mickey went for a takeaway, and she’d obviously spotted the picture of Rose in the heart-shaped frame. “Dunno,” Jackie answered. “It was a long time ago.” She honestly couldn’t remember- Mickey had always been just there. She looked hard at Trisha: maybe her and Mickey had argued or something, and that was what had brought the question on. “Trisha, are you jealous, love?” “No,” Trisha answered quickly. But Jackie was sure she was, simply because it’d be so hard not to be.

:O *hero-worships* I got them both! Oh joy unbounded!

(firmly squashes the humorless!feminist part that is saying: “Oh yes, we get a day, and they get the rest of the year, isn’t that always the way.”) Ahem… sorry bout that, reflex thought. *g* Character of Gwenyth? [sp?]
March 8, 2006 @ 7:29 pm
Ooh, okay. :D Past and Future The things she saw were strange. Especially the…things on the roads. Cars? Was that what they were called? Rose seemed to think so. But…they were frightening, they were awful machines, she saw one knock a man down and kill him…and the man, Rose knew him, he was her… “Maybe your dad’s up there waiting for you, too, miss,” she said to Rose. Rose looked confused, and asked how she knew about that, and Gwyneth had to look away. But she saw…she saw Rose there, in strange clothes, running to her father on the road and taking his hand.

Excellent! Thank you!

Rosie from Spiderman 2? :) Stealing your idea, too. ^^;
March 8, 2006 @ 7:54 pm
Go ahead and steal it- heck, tell others to steal it; let’s make it a meme. :D Anyway, here’s Rosie: News She read it all in the papers. The explosions, the battles, that horrible scene on the bridge. She wasn’t sure who she felt the sorriest for: Spider-Man, the girl, or the kids who’d been in the cable car. She missed the story on the next page: the one about Norman Osborn’s death. “There’s so much speculation…they think the Goblin was a science experiment gone wrong,” she told her husband. Otto shook his head. “Science doesn’t work like that.” * Rosie met Harry only two days later, at an Oscorp meeting. There was something in his eyes which reminded her of the words gone wrong.

Sora Takenouchi? I know it’s been a while, but…
March 8, 2006 @ 8:19 pm
Most certainly. :D Older Joe was at her house, and in her bedroom- he’d turned up at her door awkwardly and asked if he could use her computer, since his was broken and it was inconvenient for his studies and she didn’t mind, did she? She let him get on with it while she tidied up- her room was messy. She had her back turned, when Joe spoke- “You should wear your hat again.” She blinked. “You looked good in it.” She shrugged. “That was all a long time ago. I’m older now, y’know? It doesn’t fit.” Joe shrugged, but he threw her the hat, and she put it on.
March 8, 2006 @ 8:27 pm
*squee* Thankyou! I loved it! The infamous hat.

Is it too late for a drabble on Padme Amidala?
March 9, 2006 @ 4:53 pm
No, not too late! Anniversary On the first anniversary of the Battle of Naboo, Padme dressed up in her finest clothes and gave a speech to the assembled citizens. It was what was expected of her. Then she spoke to people. People who’d seen relatives shot in front of them, or come home to find friends dead. There was one woman who’d lost her five- year -old daughter -she had been the only child killed. One too many. “I’m so sorry,” Padme said to her as soon as they came face to face. And then she hugged her, because she’d decided she was allowed to do that.

*hugs* How come I’m just reading this? Thank you so much!
