Shakespeare Re-Told is on tonight. I’m looking forward to it (Billie Piper is in it, for one thing) but a small part of my brain -the one that’s been doing English Literature for six or so years- is saying crossly, ‘But you *can’t* re-tell Shakespeare. Shakespeare’s language is too darn pretty-it just won’t sound right if they’ve changed everything. You’ll probably hate it!’
Anyone else watching it?

I agree. Moderized Shakespeare makes me twitch. One of the best things about Shakespeare is the complexity of the language. It forces you not to read it merely at face-value. I love your icon. ^_^

‘xactly. I’m still going to watch it, though- although I have to admit I probably wouldn’t if Billie Piper (aka Rose from Doctor Who) wasn’t in it. ;) Thanks. SW manga rocks. :D

No! And you’re right. The whole idea reeks of sacrilege. :p
