Did anyone else see red when this happened?

imageLike, this fucking bitch just sat herself down between Jim and Spock. I pretty much want to rip her motherfucking throat out when I watched this. Like who the fuckedy fuck does she think she is?

I apologize Carol Marcus fans <No, fuck that. I have no regrets.

Spock’s reaction pretty much sums up mine own. His is much, much, much more toned down, of course.

What the absolute fuck. No. Stop. Fucking no.

No. Don’t DO that.

There’s nothing a woman can do without being called a bitch. Including sitting down, apparently.

I feel kinda bad whenever I see Trekkies refer to JJ Abrams as Jar Jar Abrams

because Jar Jar Binks tried really hard, always wanted to be helpful, and showed a great deal of respect to everyone. When he messed up he understood his faults, apologised, and tried harder not to disappoint people.

Jar Jar Binks would never think of releasing a movie where the female officers weren’t given rank insignia.

Jar Jar also instantly deferred to Amidala, a teenage girl, on pretty much all matters as well.

But in all seriousness

Carol Marcus refuses to be beamed away while Bones is still in danger, even though she’s risking her life terribly trying to save him

Carol Marcus attempts to save the lives of her fellow crew members by telling her father that if he wants to kill them he’ll have to kill her too

Carol Marcus tries to stop herself being transported off the Enterprise, even though staying on the ship would have meant certain death at that point

Carol Marcus is literally the sort of person who would rather die than live knowing she failed to save someone

underappreciated characters meme  > A character you love but is treated poorly in canon and by fandom (½)

Dr. Carol Marcus – She’s intelligent, proactive, brave, principled and willing to risk her life for the crew she’s part of. She saves Bones’s life, stands up to her father, and fights for what she thinks is right at every given opportunity.

Fandom knows her as ‘the one with the underwear’

karluurban:

anybody else think it’s cool that carol marcus never did any of that “but captain he’s my father!” shit, like she knew he was wrong and family or not she chose what she thought was right rather than simply siding with her dad

and then she tells jim it’s good to have a family cause your family at the end of the day isn’t just who’s blood related it’s who you stand for and who stands with you u feel me

Movies should not be made like this.

This is why I don’t blame Cumberbatch himself for taking the role: by all accounts, at the time he signed the contract, he didn’t know his character’s real identity.

(Actually I try not to blame actors in general for taking parts, unless they’re in a position where they can pick and choose their roles, Johnny Depp.  People gotta pay the rent, after all.  I save my side eye for when they’re actively stupid, like Jackson Rathbone saying all he needed to play Sokka was a tan.)

I really hope that in a few years we get the full story of what the hell was going on behind the scenes of this movie
