Wood duck chicks leap from a cypress stump to their mother duck below. Your Shot photographer Gerald Burns waited four hours for the chicks to take their leap. Your Shot Producer David Y. Lee writes, “I agree with both Your Shot photographers K. Orr and Noreen Underwood that this was well worth the wait. Great job being patient Gerald. I love it. I applaud that you observed and anticipated this moment. It is fantastic. I feel myself cheering on the chicks on their leap of faith.
