Was Ghostbusters important to you?
Regardless of its actual quality as a movie? I’m trying to prove a point to a sub-reddit guy who told me GB 2016 pissed off an “entire fandom”.

it IS incredibly important. Empowered women characters being beautiful and messy and weird and funny. And the best, most badass action sequence in the film belonging to WOMEN. Men are so goddamn used to being the default that any deviance makes them freak out.
It was fun! All I remember of the original movie is the marshmallow, “Don’t cross the streams!1!” and the theme tune. I know I’ve seen it but beyond that it’s utterly forgettable. Don’t even remember if I liked it. The new one, I think I will.
I loved it to pieces and I think it’s a very good movie.

My headcannon is that Patty will literally read anything that’s sitting around if she’s got a still moment. That’s part of how she knows so much about so many things, not just because she loves to read but because well, Astrophysical Mechanics? Eh, it’s reading material, she’ll go with it, and she’ll pick it up as she goes.
But like, she’ll also pick up random gossip magazines or whatever Kevin is “reading” and who knows what else. If she’s sitting still and there’s reading material nearby, Patty’s got her nose in it.

The Ladies Of Ghostbusters [2/4] Patty Tolan, As an MTA worker, Patty meets many “characters” in her line of work, but Rowan North takes the cake. One day she noticed him disappear going down the tunnel. While searching for him, she finds a odd sparking device. Then she sees a ghost. She visits the Ghostbusters and asks for their help. She is the practical, street smarts member of the term. She also is a wealth of information on New York city’s history, who becomes the Ghostbusters’ first recruit. “Ah hell naw, the Devil is a liar! Get out of my friend, ghost! The power of Patty compels you!”
