There’s a video going round on social media of somebody dying. There’s a woman in an apartment fire and just before she ends up in flames herself she throws her baby off the edge. He was caught by Phillip Blanks, who is an absolute hero.
I don’t want to see someone dying under horrible circumstances, in agony and not knowing for certain if their child would live, but it would be more tolerable if people acted with respect. Instead so many people hijacked that whole story to make jokes on Reddit, to make snide comments about race, to rail against masks for god’s fucking sake–
Something’s turned everyone so desensitized and nasty. (Well, maybe not this John Ziegler guy. I’m just gonna assume he’s a monster.) I don’t know if it’s social media or not that’s doing this but I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.
I hope everyone involved in this story goes on to have long and happy and private lives.
