So this cat Moffat
Is really going hard on some PR spin/rebranding himself as Not-A-Misogynist at GallifreyOne.
One of the fans whose criticisms he “casually dismantled?” Was a girl who wasn’t the one who actually asked one of those questions and as she tried to reiterate that he kept talking over her.
He really did want to hire more female writers and directors!
“The Doctor’s a woman now! Get over it!” Like lol whiny men it’s time for girls now, amirite!
All I’m saying is it feels more like desperate image reparation than being genuine.
If you’d been paying attention, you’d know he’s been saying this stuff for years.
His comments about women writers and directors at Gally, for example, are practically a verbatim repeat of things he said in 2014, only with the added benefit of having now hired more than anyone else because of that effort.
Dislike his writing if you will, that’s personal taste, but this isn’t damage control, it’s just him saying what he always has.
He goes on about totally not being a misogynist but had to bring back One and bastardise him into the worst sexist ever just to make his own era look better by comparison.
The guy is a huge sexist hack who can’t handle criticism. No matter what else he says.
Aye but to be fair so was RTD (anyone remember when School Reunion aired and Sarah Jane was suddenly spending decades pining for a man she chose to leave?). I mean they’re sexist if only because Men and neither one is that good with being criticised. (”Nine hysterical women,” eh Rusty?)
That said I didn’t see the Xmas one so maybe it’s even worse than I could imagine?
That “jolly good smacked bottom” quote is from the original One, and so’s his general patronising attitude.
