I have never heard anyone, regardless of age, say “my phone’s battery has gone”
I’ve also heard batteries, lights, televisions, and engines referred to as “dying” since before anyone knew what an internet was and in media going back as long as all of those things have existed
“Kill the lights, Hymie” followed by Hymie literally shooting a light bulb was a gag in Get Smart, a sitcom from the sixties, which were almost sixty years ago now, but sure, millenials are the first people ever to use death in reference to simple electronics
