I’m bedbound with a very serious neurological condition that has been rapidly getting worse. I’ve also been unable to access specialist medical care for 8 months, due to transport costs.
I need to move to the suburb near my neurologist’s practice by 21st July, which is when my next appointment is. My condition is getting very severe and I’m concerned I could be in serious danger if I don’t have prompt access to medical care.
To prevent physical aggravations from travel, I need to move closer to my neurologist’s practice. I’ve been told that my housing application hasn’t been assessed yet, so I will need to either find some sort of temporary accommodation or apply and pay bond for an apartment in the area.
If I can apply for an apartment, assuming $400/week rent and $2400 upfront rent + bond, I still need another $654 for the upfront payment. I also need about $450 for the following regardless of where I end up staying: payment for assistance with locating a suitable budget motel or apartment, payment for accessibility-related inspections on my behalf, and miscellaneous purchases (food, toiletries, sheets).
