I haven’t sought out much Oscars coverage, but

The Oscar for Best Original Song could have gone to Everything Is Awesome, The Lego Movie’s theme song which long ago lost any aspirations it had to be ironic or satirical long ago. Everything Is Awesome has become as toothless as Happy, the type of mindlessly positive song meant to lull sheep into maintaining the status quo. 

And here I thought it was just a silly song about the lives of Lego people.
