I think the problem with a lot of feminist media criticism at the moment is that, say a man writes a female character and announces to the world “This woman I created is a slut!”. What people should be doing is attacking the mindset that leads to the word “slut” even existing, but more often than not the response seems to be “yes, she is a slut and we deserve better.”
